SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ - Coming off a huge win last week against North Hunterdon, Immaculata had their most productive offensive game of the season Friday night by beating Scotch Plains-Fanwood by a score of 40-30.
The Spartans' win over the Raiders increases their unbeaten season record to 3-0.
Sophomore Jordan Kinsler gave the Spartans the offensive fireworks they needed by scoring five touchdowns, while having two explosive 70-yard runs. “Jordan’s play was the game changer, “ says Athletic Director Tom Gambino. “He gave us the production we needed to carry us through to the win.”
Ryan Enright also scored a touchdown and kicker Zach Helleis added four extra points. Under the offensive leadership of quarterback Patrick Frauenheim, who also recovered a fumble on defense, the Spartans ground game sliced through the Raiders’ defense throughout the afternoon, resulting in the six touchdown performance.
Next week Immaculata matches up against the Montgomery Cougars (1-2) on Friday evening at 7 pm at Brooks Field. “The message is clear to our team,” Columbo said.. “To beat Montgomery we need to play our best all week at practice and then on game night, if we hope to bring home a win.
