SOMERVILLE. NJ – Jonathan Sasso, 21, of South 6th St,, Manville and a 17-year- old juvenile have been arrested and charged in a series of car burglaries in Branchburg, according to.Acting Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson.
Branchburg police received a several phone calls from residents on Breckenridge Drive and Red Crest Lane, June 28th and 29th, reporting overnight burglaries to their parked vehicles. Reported stolen were cash, personal items, computer tablets, cellular telephones, GPS units and other electronic items, according to Robertson.
Detectives from the county Prosecutor’s Office and Branchburg Police Department conducted the investigation. Detectives identified the suspects as Sasso and the 17-year-old.
On July 6th police and a Somerset County Sheriff’s Office K-9 unit executed two search warrants on both of the defendant’s residences;, detectives seized computer tablets, cellular telephones, personal items, assorted gift cards and GPS units which were determined to have been stolen during the car burglaries, according to Robertson.
Sasso was arrested at his residence and charged with 3rd Degree Receiving Stolen Property, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a Disorderly Person Offense. Sasso was released on his own recognizance.
The juvenile was charged with four counts of 3rd Degree Burglary, one count of 3rd Degree Theft, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a Disorderly Person Offense.
They were released to a family member pending a Somerset County Family Court appearance.
