Two Somerville Seniors Awarded $1,500 Paul Sanford Music Scholarships

SOMERVILLE, NJ - The Somerville Business and Professional Association has awarded the Paul Sanford Music Scholarship to two high school seniors.

Andrew Bower, Immaculata High School Class of 2018 and Giana Giorello, Somerville High School Class of 2018, were each awarded $1,500 scholarships named in honor of Sanford, a longtime downtown Somerville merchant.

He operated Sanford Jewelers on West Main Street before retiring several years ago. A graduate of Somerville High School, Sanford served as president of the SBPA for several years.

The SBPA also sponsors an  Arts and Crafts Fair, a spring and fall street fair and several activities during the holiday season in conjunction with its merchant members.

The next SBPA street fair is on Oct. 7 on Main Street from 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
