The new bridge will be reconstructed in three separate stages, with through vehicular and pedestrian traffic and local business access maintained throughout the project.

Starting Thursday, Feb. 2, traffic heading southbound on Main Street will be shifted slightly to the east to allow for the demolition and replacement of the western portion of the existing bridge.  Left turn lanes will be temporarily eliminated; motorists should follow the posted signs.

A full road closure at the bridge with a posted detour will be implemented over approximately 10 evenings between the hours of 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. at various times during construction.

A number of overhead and underground utility relocations at and adjacent to the project limits also will be performed during construction.

Somerset County will provide updates during construction to provide advance notice for the various staged traffic shifts and nighttime detour schedules.
