SOMERVILLE, NJ - Even though it's in their job description, Easter bunnies were unable to hand out candy this year because of social distancing mandates demanded by the government.
But that didn't stop a pair of Easter bunnies determined to lighten the mood and spread some good will up and down the streets of Somerville on Saturday.
The Easter buddies - Jason Kraska and Gori Carfora - met early in the afternoon and consulted a map, divided the borough in two and took off on their great adventure, spending two hours cruising up and down the streets throughout town.
Pat Mannion, owner of Mannion's Pub & Restaurant on Main Street, and Steven Sandora offered rides to the Easter bunnies in the interest of covering more neighborhoods.
The Easter buddies promise to return next year with goodies in their baskets for all the kids.
