SOMERVILLE, NJ - The Green Planet Band returns to the Summer Stage on Division Street Saturday, July 18 from 6-9 p.m., recycling rock'n'roll one song at a time.
The three siblings who are members of the band - Kylee on guitar and vocals, Anna on bass and Tyler on drums - have made the best of the coronavirus quarantine, learning a bunch of new tunes that they will be performing. The band performed on Division Street last year.
The Downtown Somerville Alliance is sponsor of the music series, held throughout the summer.
“Summer Stage has really become a staple of the season in Somerville,” said Natalie Pineiro, executive director of the DSA. “We’re happy that despite the challenges brought forth by COVID-19 we’ve found a way to bring the music back to Division Street.”
The series runs every Saturday evening, weather permitting, from 6-9 p.m. Traditionally the season kicks off on Memorial Day Weekend and runs through the end of September however, because of COVID-19, the season has been delayed but will now run through the end of October.

The weekly series has been existence for several years and is sponsored by the Downtown Somerville Alliance with support from local non-profit Arts on Division. Talent for the season is booked by local music/arts advocates Shawn Daley and Michelle Kassick, owners of Gallery on Main Street, located at 30 West Main St. in Somerville.
Summer Stage is free of charge to enjoy however due to concerns surrounding hygiene and social distancing, attendees are encouraged to bring their own chairs and/or blankets. Masks are required to be worn and patrons are reminded to maintain a social distance of six feet between each other.
