TRENTON, NJ - The Somerville Public Schools, and all other school districts across New Jersey, will remain closed until at least April 17, said Gov.Phil Murphy iduring his daily COVID-19 briefing Thursday.
"Let me be clear " said Murphy, "The decision to reopen school districts rests with me. We will not be prepared to revisit the closure until at least April 17, at the very earliest."
He continued, "The decision to reopen will be based on careful discussion with our public health and safety experts, and with our educators and districts. We will be guided by the facts on the ground."
Currently, students in New Jersey's public, private, parochial, and charter schools are working via online instruction.
The original order to close school districts in New Jersey was issued March 18th, and was to have lasted two weeks.
