SOMERVILLE, NJ - A modified schedule for pick-up of meals provided by the Somerville schools during the ongoing COVID-19 closure has been put into effect, according to Dr. Timothy Teehan, superintendent of schools.
"Due to Governor Murphy’s recent announcement to close down all non-essential businesses, we have had to modify our schedule for distribution of breakfasts and lunches," Teehan posted to the school district website Sunday afternoon.
"On Monday from noon-2 p.m. at Somerville Middle School cafeteria, we will be providing three (3) days’ worth of meals, which will cover Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.
"On Thursday from noon-2 p.m. at Somerville Middle School cafeteria, we will be providing two (2) days’ worth of meals, which will cover Thursday and Friday. If we can arrange it, we will provide weekend meals through the Friday Backpack program on Thursday at the same time as the regular meal pick-up."
