FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP, NJ – A fourth suspect has been arrested in connection with two separate shooting incidents on Dec. 30 and New Year's Eve, 2019, according to Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson.
Kevin Lewis, 20, of South Dover Avenue, Somerset, has been charged with two counts of 1st degree Conspiracy to Commit Murder, two counts of 1st degree Attempted Murder and two counts of 2nd degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose. He is being held at Somerset County Jail pending a bail detention hearing, according to Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Chief of County Detectives John W. Fodor and Franklin Township Public Safety Director Quovella M. Spruill.
Lewis was taken into custody on Monday, Aug. 10th without incident.Previously arrested and charged in the two shootings are Rome Cruz, Christopher Williams and Omar Griggs. The shootings occurred on Dec. 30th on Barker Road and on Dec. 31st on King Road, according to Robertson.
The Prosecutor's office provided the following account:
Franklin police received a 911 call at 4:30 a.m. Dec. 30th reporting multiple gunshots on Barker Road. Detectives responded and during their investigation, determined 27 shots were fired at a residence on Barker Road that was occupied. No injuries were reported.
On Dec. 31, at 2:26 a.m., Franklin police received another 911 call reporting multiple gunshots on King Road. Detectives determined 30 shots were fired, with a resident shot in the leg. He was treated at an area hospital and released.
