FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP, NJ – Crime Stoppers of Somerset County, Inc. is offering a reward of up to $2,500 for information leading to the identification and arrest of the individual(s) responsible for the July 7 homicide of Raphael Edwards, 27, Village Drive, Franklin Park, according to Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson,

Robertson provided the following account:

Franklin Police responding to a "shots fired" 911 call at 11:52 p.m. found the victim on the same street where he lived suffering from a gunshot wound  Franklin Township Police Officers immediately began to administer lifesaving measures along with responding emergency medical personnel. Edwards was transported to an area trauma center where he was subsequently pronounced dead.

Detectives from the Franklin Township Police Department, the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit, and the Crime Scene Investigations Unit, responded to conduct the investigation. The death has been ruled a homicide by the New Jersey Northern Regional Medical Examiner’s Office. Preliminary investigation is that the shooting was an isolated incident. Investigators are attempting to establish a motive.
