SOMERVILLE, NJ - The number of COVID-19 related deaths in Somerset County increased to 50 overnight, with the overall death toll in New Jersey increasing to 1,504; there are 1,140 cases in Somerset County, according to statistics provided by the Somerset County Department of Health on Wednesday afternoon.

There are now 33 cases in Somerville, an increase of 3 overnight, according to the SCDOH; Somerset County reported 133 new cases overnight.

The SCDOH has confirmed the deaths of 14 Franklin Township residents; 11 in Bridgewater;; 8 in North Plainfield residents; 5 in Green Brook, 4 in Hillsborough, and one each in Peapack-Gladstone, Bedminster, Bernards Township, Bound Brook, Branchburg, Somerville, Warren and Watchung.

Here is the latest breakdown of confirmed cases by town: Bedminster, 20, Bernardsville Borough, 28; Bernards Township, 69; Branchburg, 38; Bridgewater, 125; Bound Brook, 44: Far Hills, 2; Franklin, 312; Green Brook, 55; Hillsborough, 90; Manville, 39; Millstone, 2; Montgomery, 38; North Plainfield, 116; Peapack-Gladstone, 17; Raritan, 21; Rocky Hill, 3; Somerville, 33; South Bound Brook, 15; Warren, 41; Watchung, 32. 

Statewide, there is a total of 47,437 cases, an increase of 3,021 overnight, with the statewide death toll now at 1,504, an increase of 272 overnight, according to the state Department of Health.

Statewide, there is a total of 52,979 negative test results reported by the state-run and private laboratories, according to the NJDOH.

There are 374,329 cases in the United States, with 12,064 deaths; worldwide, there are 1,363,365 cases and 76,420 deaths, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
