SOMERVILLE, NJ - The Somerset County Department of Health on Saturday reported a total of 4,601 cases of the COVID-19 coronavirus, an increase of 15 cases overnight, with 479 deaths occurring since the pandemic began in March.

Somerville has a total of 148 COVID-19 cases in that time, with 6 deaths.

The New Jersey Department of Health Saturday reported a total of 178,858 positive cases of the coronavirus since the pandemic began its spread in the state 145 days ago, and a total of 13,856 deaths during that time, an increase of 11 overnight.

The number of COVID-19 cases worldwide is now 16,076,857 with 645,221 having died as a result of exposure to the coronavirus, according to the Centers for Disease Control; & Prevention on Saturday morning.

The CDC this morning reported 148,979 COVID-19 deaths in the United States, with a total of 4,282,752 cases.

The SCDOH has confirmed the deaths of 137 Franklin Township residents; 73 in Hillsborough; 69 in Bridgewater; 43 in Bernards Township; 36 in North Plainfield; 32 in Green Brook; 15 in Watchung; 14 in Warren; 14 in Raritan; 13 in Bound Brook; 6 in Manville; 6 in Somerville; 6 in Montgomery; 5 in Bedminster; 3 in Branchburg; 3 in South Bound Brook; 2 in Bernardsville and one in Peapack-Gladstone.

No COVID-19 deaths have been reported in Far Hills, Millstone or Rocky Hill.
