SOMERVILLE, NJ - New Jersey recorded another 192 COVID-19 related deaths overnight, bringing the statewide death toll to 10,138 on Friday, with the Somerset County Department of Health reporting 357 deaths and a total of 3,682 coronavirus cases, an increase of 13 overnight.

There are 117 cases in Somerville.

Somerset County residents who are exhibiting symptoms are encouraged to get tested for the coronavirus. The test site at Raritan Valley Community College, located at 118 Lamington Road, will be open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. next week on Tuesday, May 19, and Thursday, May 21.

Testing, which is free of charge, is available to Hunterdon and Somerset County residents, age five (5) and older. Because priority is being given to those who are exhibiting symptoms of the coronavirus, residents must have a valid doctor’s prescription, ID and an appointment to receive testing.

Patients are required to provide a copy of their prescription, either by bringing it with them to the testing site, or by sending it via email in advance of the appointment.  Patients or their physicians can send the written authorization to the Somerset County Department of Health at, with the word “Prescription” in the subject line. Faxes can be sent to 908-704-8042.

The SCDOH has confirmed the deaths of 103 Franklin Township residents; 56 in Bridgewater; 38 in Bernards Township; 36 in Hillsborough; 30 in North Plainfield; 26 in Green Brook; 14 in Watchung; 12 in Warren; 11 in Bound Brook; 7 in Raritan; 5 in Somerville; 4 in Bedminster; 4 in Montgomery; 4 in Manville; 3 in South Bound Brook; 2 in Branchburg and one each in Peapack-Gladstone and Bernardsville.

No COVID-19 deaths have been reported in Far Hills or Rocky Hill.

Statewide, there is a total of 143,905 cases, an increase of 1,201 overnight, with 10, 138 deaths reported, an increase of 192 since Thursday, according to the State Department of Health.

There are 1,429,990 cases in the United States, with 86,744 deaths; worldwide, there are 4,558,435 cases and 305,395 deaths, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
