HILLSBOROUGH, NJ - The Interfaith Community Action Network is hosting a Virtual Vigil on Zoom for Justice and Peace in Memory of George Floyd on Sunday, June 7, at 3 p.m.

Shanel Robinson, director of the Somerset County Board of Chosen Freeholders, will be the keynote speaker and will be joined by New Jersey Attorney General Gurbir Grewal and several elected officials - Rep. Tom Malinowski, D-7th; state Sen. Kip Bateman, R-16th; and NJ Assemblymen Joe Danielsen, D-17th,, Andrew Zwicker, D-16th and Roy Freiman, D-16th. 
 
Faith leaders representing Jewish, Islamic, Christian, Buddhist, and Sikh traditions will offer brief prayers and Scriptures.

Also included will be an extended period of silence for participants to bear witness to the time that passed while George Floyd, in handcuffs, begged for mercy while pinned to the ground by a police officer holding his knee against Floyd's neck in Minneapolis May 25.
 
Registration for the webinar is required at www.tinyurl.com/VirtualVigil2020. When your registration is approved, you will be sent the link to attend the Vigil live at 3 p.m. at which time you will be able to enter the webinar directly.
