Bees Double Up Patriots

BRIDGEWATER, NJ-   The New Britain Bees (7-8, 33-52) defeated the Somerset Patriots (7-8, 49-36) 4-2 at TD Bank Ballpark on Sunday evening.

The Patriots took an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning on a solo home run by Christian Marrero (3).

The Bees tied up the game in the top of the third inning on an RBI ground out by Jovan Rosa.

Somerset Patriots Sign Rutgers Outfielder Tom Marcinczyk

BRIDGEWATER, NJ – The Somerset Patriots have signed former Rutgers outfielder Tom Marcinczyk. He joins Somerset after concluding his collegiate career at Rutgers University earlier this year.

In his senior season at Rutgers, Marcinczyk played in 52 games and hit .274 with seven home runs, 29 runs batted in, and 32 runs scored while hitting in the middle of the Rutgers’ lineup.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ - The Somerset Patriots (7-7, 49-35) defeated the New Britain Bees (6-8, 32-52) 5-2 at TD Bank Ballpark on Friday evening.

Lucas Irvine (7-2) picked up the win, allowing two earned runs on eight hits in seven innings pitched.
