CRANFORD, NJ - Different opponent, same outcome, as the Somerville Pioneers increased their 2019 season undefeated streak to four games with another lopsided victory Friday night.

Their latest victim was the Cranford HS Cougars, who managed to score just one touchdown against the Pioneers defense, which has given up a total of 33 points in four games this season.

The stifling defense was led by AJ Pena with three sacks and 13 tackles, with Deondre Gadson contributing 12 tackles and Ethan MacNair, one sack and seven tackles.

The final score was 40-7.

The offense was led by running back Cookie Desiderio, who scored four touchdowns while rushing for 129 yards. Quarterback Justin Brenner threw for one touchdown, a 32-yarder to Kyree Hinton. Brenner finished 10-13 for 158 yards. Hinton caught six passes for 116 yards.

Next up for the Pioneers is another road game, Saturday, Oct. 5, against the Summit Hilltoppers. Kick-off is at 2 p.m.
