CLARK, NJ – As it was when The Barclays were last played at Plainfield Country Club in 2011, Oak Ridge Park will be used as a satellite parking lot for the six-day golf tournament. Shuttle buses will run from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. on tournament days: Aug. 25 through Aug. 30.
The impact on local Clark roads will be minimal, according to Lieutenant Michael Pollock of the Clark Police Department. “It’s not concentrated traffic,” he said, “but it will be spread out throughout the day.”
Because the advertised directions route ticket holders through Clark from the Garden State Parkway, officers will be located at the following intersections:
- Garden State Parkway Circle
- Raritan Road and Central Avenue
- Raritan Road and Westfield Avenue
- Oak Ridge Road and Lake Avenue
The PGA Tour pays for the additional officers, Pollock said. He urged motorists to be extra cautious when officers are present in the roadways.
Shuttle buses will turn right out of the Oak Ridge Park parking area and travel to and from Plainfield Country Club via Edison, Pollock said, so Clark residents will be largely unaffected by the presence of buses on the roads.
Refer to area road closures if traveling through Edison, Plainfield and South Plainfield throughout the tournament week.
Oak Ridge Park is located at 136 Oak Ridge Road in Clark, NJ.
