County’s Fall Slow-Pitch Softball Leagues Forming: Men’s, Co-ed Teams Sought for Play

MIDDLESEX COUNTY, NJ - Teams are being sought for the Fall session of Middlesex County Parks and Recreation Office’s Adult Slow Pitch Softball Leagues. Those interested can register now. All leagues begin play in late August 2016.

 

There are four separate leagues to join: 

MONDAY MEN’S
TUESDAY MEN’S
WEDNESDAY CO-ED
THURSDAY CO-ED

The two field locations are Thomas Edison Park in Edison and Warren Park in Woodbridge. Some games may also be played at South Amboy’s Raritan Bay Waterfront Park.

 

“The County’s softball leagues have always been extremely popular, and it’s easy to see why. This program gives County residents the chance to make new friends, enjoy the outdoors and rediscover their love of the game,” said Freeholder Director Ronald G. Rios. “So come on out and Play Ball!”
 

“Our parks and fields offer residents the best environment to come together as a community in the spirit of fun and sportsmanship,” said Freeholder Charles E. Tomaro, chair of the Infrastructure Management Committee.  “This season is sure to be another home run for all our players.”

 

Please be aware of all league fees, as well as the $100 forfeit deposit (which is refundable).

·         Weekday Leagues: $325 plus $100 refundable forfeit deposit.

·         Umpire fees are $23 per team, per game, and are payable in cash at the field.

 

Teams will be accepted on a first come, first served basis. All league fees, deposits and applications are due at the time of registration. No cash will be accepted for league fees. Teams will not be accepted without payment and application.

 

The deadline to register for the fall season is Aug. 1.
