CRANBURY, NJ – Only one Board of Education incumbent will be on the ballot as three seats come up for election in November, according to the Middlesex County Clerk’s Office.
In a list provided by the county following the July 31 deadline for filing petitions to run for the board, only incumbent Evelyn Spann is seeking another three-year term.
Board President Jennifer Cooke and member Ashutosh Hadap did not file to run in this year’s race, according to the county.
Spann will face three challengers, former GOP Township Committee candidate Francis McGovern, Lisa Rue, and Amy Dixon in the balloting, according to the list from the county.
Board race candidates, unlike those for other political offices, had until the end of July to file petitions and get on the November ballot.
The election will be held Nov. 7.
