East Brunswick: No Injuries As Vehicle Burns On NJ Turnpike Near Exit 9

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ – Some tense moments, but apparently, no injuries as a vehicle burst into flames this afternoon on the New Jersey Turnpike.

State Police and fire crews responded to mile marker 177, near Exit 9 in East Brunswick Friday, after a minor accident involving a van or truck that caught fire in the inner roadway, police said.

While few details about the crash were available, police said the vehicle was fully involved in fire when they arrived.

Firefighters extinguished the blaze and the scene was cleared, police said.

Motorist Henry Falquez shot a video of the burning vehicle as he approached the exit for Route 18.

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ - A new Starbucks on ​Route 1 South ​could​ be the crown jewel of an ambitious redevelopment in the works, known as The Edge at Raritan Heights.
