FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP, NJ - A shooting which occurred in Somerville yesterday has resulted in one arrest, and an ongoing investigation, according to authorities.

Contrary to published reports by two area newspapers and another online news site, there was only one shooting in Somerville, and two individuals required medical attention for non-life threatening injuries, police say. 

"There was no shooting incident in Franklin Township," Somerset County Director of Communications, Jack Bennett said in an email.

One of the shooting victims en route to a trauma center for medical treatment contacted the Franklin Township Police Department who responded to his location, police say.
