MILLTOWN, NJ - The Milltown Police Department is currently investigating a residential burglary that occurred Wednesday during daylight hours.

A suspect or suspects gained entry to a home in the area of Harkins Road and Washington Avenue, closer to Moetz Drive, by forcing open a rear door.

The home was empty at the time of the robbery.

Details regarding what was taken from the residence was not released by police.

However, the department is asking residents that live in the area to contact the police if they noticed any suspicious vehicles or people in that vicinity during the daytime hours on Thursday.

On Dec. 11, 2015 a break in occurred at a home on South Wilson Avenue.

In that incident, the home was entered through a rear window in the house that the suspect or suspects broke to gain access and then left through a sliding glass door that was also in the back of the house.

Police estimated the time of the robbery happened between the hours of 2 p.m. and 11:40 p.m.
