MONMOUTH JUNCTION, NJ - The South Brunswick Police Department and the Township of South Brunswick held National Night Out event at Rowland Park Tuesday night. The program has won awards from the national sponsor in previous years and has been often recognized for its presentation.

Despite the forecast of thundershowers, the event was well-attended.  There were inflatables, plenty of hot dogs, a soda truck, and ice cream for everyone.

The South Brunswick Police Department had patrol cars accessible for inspection, detective displays, and crime prevention exhibits to educate the crowd. In addition, the local Emergency Medical Service had their vehicles present and personnel gave life-saving demonstrations.

Many local community group distributed their materials to the community at information tables.

The planning for the event was coordinated by Police Chief Ray Hyducka, Deputy Chief Jim Ryan, and Lt. Gene Rickle.
