Open Letter to Lt. Governor Kim Guadagno from Jack Ciattarelli
Tuesday, February 2, 2017
Dear Lt. Governor Guadagno,
Back on January 18th, I issued a challenge to you. Namely, to hold debates in all 21 New Jersey counties so Republicans in every corner of our state can hear substantive discussion and judge for themselves who is best to lead our party and beat Wall Street’s Phil Murphy.
This challenge was also offered to the other candidates. To their credit, both Joe Rullo and Steve Rogers accepted immediately. Unfortunately, 14+ days later, there is no word from you.
My Campaign Manager informs me that on January 26th, after repeated attempts, he spoke personally with your Campaign Manager at an event they both attended, asking point blank whether you were going to accept my debate challenge. Despite assurances a formal response was forthcoming, your campaign continues to run silent.
Last Friday, the Gannett New Jersey Editorial Board joined a growing chorus of analysts, pundits and members of the media who have recognized me for being the only candidate in the race who has put forth a comprehensive and serious plan to solve our state’s many problems, including cutting taxes. Despite that distinction, I eagerly await your affirmative reply and hopeful participation in debates that address these problems
I renew my debate challenge to you today. If you have an alternative proposal, I welcome the opportunity to review. It is, however, time to get serious about the Republican nomination.
Whether five or 500 debate attendees, the New Jersey Republican Party deserves the most serious, transparent and viable candidate in order to win this November’s gubernatorial election.
I look forward to your reply.
