Prosecutor: Murder Suspect Shot Victim Twice in Same Week

SOMERVILLE, N.J. - A Bound Brook man charged with attempted murder shot the victim on two separate occasions during the same week, according to Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson.

Isaiah Wilson, 25, of  Fisher Avenue, Bound Brook is charged with 1st degree, attempted murder and 2nd degree, possession of a firearm for an unlawful purpose.

Bound Brook p police responded to a phone call that reported shots fired in the area of East Main and Drake streets on June 8 at 9:39 p.m. and found several spent shell casings in the roadway, but were unable to find any gunshot victims..

A short time later, police were notified by Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick that they were treating a 38-year-old Bound Brook man who had been shot in the right leg. He refused to speak with police.

Four days later, on June 12, at 9:57 p.m., police were called to the same location as the first shooting and found the 38-year-old with a gunshot wound to his left leg. He was transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in Somerville for treatment.

Witnesses told police they had seen the suspect running from the area after the shooting.  A short time later, Bound Brook police located Isaiah Wilson near his Fisher Avenue residence where he was arrested without incident and lodged in the Somerset County Jail pending a detention hearing.
