SOMERVILLE, NJ - The Clergy United for Christian Ministry and the Somerville Area Ministerial Association will sponsor the 22nd annual Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Ecumenical Community Worship Service at Shiloh Pentecostal Church, 139 Davenport St. on Sunday, Jan. 15 at 4 p.m.
Lunch will be served from 2-3:30 pm. in the Fellowship Hall, according to Pastor Jack Webster.
The theme for this year's service is “Working in Harmony to Build Stronger Communities for Social Change" and the scripture text is Romans 15: 5-6.
Guest speaker is the Rev. Dr. David C. Lehmkuhl, Senior Pastor of First United Methodist Church, Somerville.
The service is an excellent opportunity for all Americans to honor Dr. King’s legacy through community service and action, according to Pastor Webster. The MLK Day of Community Worship Service is a powerful example of people coming together empowering one another, strengthening communities, bridging barriers, creating solutions to social problems, and moving people closer to Dr. King’s vision.
