SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ – Voters will have plenty of choices in the November Board of Education races, with nine candidates on the ballot competing for a total of four seats.
All three incumbents, Arthur Robinson, Deven Patel, and Pat Del Piano are running for another three-year term on the panel, according to a list of petitions filed with the Middlesex County Clerk by the July 31 deadline.
Deep Shukla, Prashant Trivedi, and Mahendra Patel are challenging those incumbents, according to the list.
In addition, there will be an election to fill an unexpired two-year term created last year after Lisa Rogers won a three-year seat, but could not serve due to personal reasons.
The board appointed former member Martin Abschutz to take the seat for one year, but he said he would not seek election at the end of that year.
Vying for that seat are; Ed Birch, Joyce Mehta, and Anil Patel, according to the county.
All three of those candidates have previously run for the board.
The election will take place on Nov. 7.
