LIBERTY TWP., N.J. — A horse that was found wandering in the township on Sept. 8 has has been reunited with his owner.

The black gelding had no halter on and nothing to help identify him. He was taken in by Keith Klinger, who found him on Danville Mountain Road at about 11:30 that night.

Facebook posts and links to the prior story on TAPinto Horses were shared many hundreds of times but in the end the owner does not go on Facebook. Klinger said the owner, whom he did not name, heard about the horse's whereabouts at a local deli. The owner, who lived not far away, is fairly new to the area, was able to provide proof of ownership to the township animal control, Klinger said.

If the owner had not come forward Klinger said he or someone he knows would have kept the gelding. Some rescues had offered to take the horse too.
