Where To Find The Great Pumpkin And More This Halloween In The Garden State

NEW JERSEY - If Halloween plans are still up in the air, take heart. There is plenty to do this final weekend before October 31 whether Garden State residents want their pants scared off or want some family-friendly fun.

  • Haunted River Walk in Milltown - October 27 and October 28 from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. Cost is $8 for adults, $5 for kids and $4 for seniors. Walk begins at the gazebo near the Milltown Rescue Squad.
  • Haunted Woods of Old Bridge - October 27, October 28 and October 29 from 7 p.m. until 10 p.m. Entrance fee is a non-perishable food donation for the Old Bridge Food Bank. Folks can come to view without the scare factor from 3:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. on October 28 and October 29. Haunted Woods are located on 75 Springhill Road in Old Bridge.
  • Boo at the Boardwalk in Point Pleasant Beach is ideal for the little ones. There's trick or treating, a pumpkin path, beach maze, crafts, underwater pumpkin carving and a derby from noon until 4 p.m. on October 28 and October 29.
  • Celebrate a 19th Century All Hallow's Eve at the Historic Village of Allaire in Farmingdale on October 29 from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. $5 for adults and $3 for kids.
  • Witches enjoy a day out at Historic Smithville in Smithville on October 29 from noon until 5 p.m., so don't forget your broom. Scavenger hunt, parade of witches and more.
  • Find the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown on the Delaware River Railroad's Great Pumpkin Train on October 28 and October 29. Trains leave at 11 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 2 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Rides are 90 minutes and include a stop at a pumpkin patch for a free pumpkin. $18 for adults and $12 for kids.
  • Find out about the Jersey Devil and more at the Tuckerton Seaport and Bayman's Museum on October 27 and October 28 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Crafts, games, stories, pumpkin slime and pirates. Ahoy! $10 for adults and $5 for children. Hayrides are an extra $5.
  • Hop on board the All-A-Boo Train at the DiDonato's Family Fun Center in Hammonton. Trains ride from 4:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. October 26 through October 39. Tickets are $12.95.
  • Rock out to a 21 and over Halloween Concert at the Convention Hall in Asbury Park on October 28 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $25 and are available at Ticketmaster.

If you're not booed out by Halloween, the Turtle Back Zoo will be hosting a Safe Howl-O-Ween on October 31 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. There will be trick or treating candy stations and a kiddo-appropriate zoo train ride. Tickets are $5.

The Emien Physick Estate in Cape May will be holding a Historic Haunts House Tour on Halloween from 7:45 p.m. until 8:14 p.m. if you dare. Cape May is after all known as one of the most haunted spots in the Garden State, so where better to spend Halloween night. Tickets are $12 for adults and $8 for children ages three through 12.
