Landing Lane Bridge Delays, Police Suggest Alternate Route

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ - City police are advising motorists to avoid the Landing Lane Bridge today because of current emergency repairs being done on the span that connects New Brunswick and Piscataway.

Police said the state Department of Transportation is making the repairs.

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ - A 45-year-old city man was struck and fatally injured while attempting to cross Route 18 in New Brunswick early this morning.

Christoph Freese was attempting to cross Route 18 near Commercial Avenue at 4:52 a.m. when he was struck by a 2006 red Dodge Charger driven by a 32-year-old man from Woodbridge, according to police.

NEW BRUNSWICK,NJ  - High levels of lead were found in 29 water faucets and other outlets located in four city schools, according to water test results that the school district released recently.
