SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ - The South Brunswick Office of Emergency Management reports that 78 residents have tested positive for COVID-19 and two members of the community have died this past week, January 17th to the 23rd. The OEM has also confirmed 23 previously unreported cases, bringing the total number of Coronavirus cases in South Brunswick to 1,764 with 49 confirmed fatalities.

            This is the third consecutive week of declining COVID-19 numbers for South Brunswick Township following a large spike following the holiday season. The new cases are 36 males and 42 females with an average age of 35. 16 of the new cases from this past week are under the age of 18, according to the OEM.

            Today, the state confirmed 3,694 new cases of COVID-19 bringing the total number of cases in New Jersey to 598,660. Middlesex County currently has 57,137 cases of COVID-19 according to the Department of Health.
