SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ -- South Brunswick scored four points in the final minute to erase a one-point deficit and defeat St. Joseph's of Metuchen, 47-44, in boys basketball Thursday night.
Junior guard Devin Strickland finished with 13 points and 10 rebounds for the Vikings (3-6), who trailed, 45-44, with a minute left. Strickland hit a layup with 59 seconds left for the one-point lead. South Brunswick got a defensive stop and sophomore guard CJ Mangram made two foul shots to make the score 47-44 with 21 seconds left. South Brunswick got another stop to end the game.
Akhil Edekar scored 10 points for South Brunswick, Tyrell Murchison had nine points and Justin Carbone finished with eight points for the Vikings. St. Joe's is 5-5.
