EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ - The New Jersey Primary Elections were held today, with most voters statewide using the mail-in ballots that were sent to them several weeks ago. East Brunswick followed the trend, though some votes were cast today at the two polling places open in the township.

East Brunswick residents made first choices within their specific parties at national, state, district, and local levels.

 

Here are the preliminary results for the Republican Party as of 9:00 pm, as they appeared on the East Brunswick Republican Provisional Ballot:

PresidentDonald J. Trump, Incumbent 

Delegates:  All are Republican representatives supporting Donald Trump who will be Delegates to the Republican National Convention on a slate headed by former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie.  The Republican Representatives for the 12th District include State Senator Sam Thompson from Old Bridge and Lucille Panos, Middlesex County Republican Chair.

 

U. S. Senator:  Rikin "Rik" Mehta of the Middlesex County Republican Party (2,764 votes countywide)

                         

Member of the House of RepresentativesMark Razzoli (Currently a member of the Old Bridge Town Council) (3,336 votes countywide)

County Clerk: Joseph C. Wolak (Currently a member of the South Plainfield Town Council) (5,669 votes countywide)

Members of the Board of Chosen Freeholders (Vote for 2):  John M. Masculin of Port Reading (5,571 votes); Andrew T. Politi of East Brunswick (5,550 votes)

Mayor of East Brunswick: Jesal Amin (646 votes in East Brunswick)

Members of Township Council (Vote for 2): Olga Miller (658 votes) Suzanne Blum (671 votes)

President: Joseph R. Biden

Delegates: All Democratic representatives supporting Joseph Biden who will be Delegates to the Democratic National Convention.  

Senator:  Cory Booker, Incumbent (28,554 votes countywide)

Member of the House of Representatives:  Bonnie Watson Coleman, Incumbent  (11,606 votes countywide)

County Clerk: Nancy J. Pinkin (Currently a member of the New Jersey State Assembly, a former East Brunswick Councilwoman) (27,172 votes countywide)

Members of the Board of Chosen Freeholders (Vote for 2): Charles Tomaro, Incumbent (24,799); Leslie Koppel, Incumbent (25,337)

Mayor of East Brunswick: Brad Cohen, Incumbent (3,305 votes in East Brunswick)

Members of the Township Council (Vote for 2):  Sterley Stanley, Incumbent ( 2,918 votes); Michael Spadafino, Incumbent (2,979 votes)
