SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ - This past weekend, FCP Hoops hosted an outdoor basketball tournament at Woodlot Park
for teams of all ages ranging from varsity sports to fourth graders. Teams from New Jersey, New
York and Pennsylvania traveled to South Brunswick to compete in an outdoor tournament with
guidelines and regulations to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Jaelen Peacock, the director of operations for FCP Hoops, has been organizing games
outdoors due to indoor restrictions. All teams must follow strict guidelines and regulations before
entering to compete and spectators are required to wear a mask, take a temperature check and
space themselves out around the court. Benches and basketballs are wiped down and sprayed
regularly during the game.
FCP Hoops is the only basketball organization that hosts tournaments every weekend
year round, according to Peacock. The organization also hosts basketball games at Woodlot
Park every Thursday from 5PM to 7PM. Peacock says FCP Hoops plans to hold more
tournaments at Woodlot Park in the near future.
