NORTH BRUNSWICK, NJ -- For one day, the final score was secondary.

North Brunswick defeated South Brunswick, 17-7, in varsity girls lacrosse on Saturday, but the teams were united for a cause: the Go4theGoal Foundation.

The "Lace Up for Pediatric Cancer" game raised a combined total of more than $5,000 for the foundation, according to Sean Edwards, the girls lacrosse head coach at South Brunswick High School. Both teams wore gold laces to symbolize unity in childrens' fight pediatric cancer.

Claudia Zappia led South Brunswick (3-5) with two goals in the game. Hayley Greenberg of North Brunswick scored five goals, had three assists and scored the 200th point of her career.
