SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ - Today, the South Brunswick Township Council voted to decrease the fees for residents and non-residents using the Rocky Top Dog Park. These changes came at the recommendation of the township to help more residents enjoy the park during the pandemic.
The dog park will no longer charge residents and non-residents on a monthly or pay-as-you-go basis. The annual rate for residents will be reduced from $100 to $25, non-residents will continue to pay $200 for yearly access.
Monthly trials that will go towards an annual membership will be $10 for residents, and will be reduced from $40 to $10 for non-residents. There is a limit of three dogs per family in the dog park. The prices for an additional access tag have been reduced to $10 for both residents and non-residents.
In the past four months, the Parks and Recreation Department has been revamping the dog park. They have sanded down all the picnic tables and repainted them, updated their fob system, and disinfected the park with dog-friendly chemicals, according to the Parks and Recreation Director Jen Petri.
