SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ - The South Brunswick School District is looking for residents to volunteer for "large bucket" strategic planning teams. Four planning teams are available on the following topics:

  • Mental Wellness on March 11 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. will address ways to best support students and staff in areas that impact stress, feelings of safety, belongling, being valued and supported.
  • Planning for Growth on March 12 at 6 p.m. will discuss how the district can manage the growing community and its impact on school facilities, safety, crowding, transportation and other issues as more than 5,000 new homes may join South Brunswick Township in the next five to seven years.
  • Academic Programming on March 27 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. will discuss maintaining the district's high level programming while also opening doors and identifying pathways for all students toward college and a professional career. Topics will also include tying in various structures to help students focus on subjects as well as balancing all the things that happen in a child's education and school experience along with real-life learning opportunities.
  • Supporting Struggling Learners on March 28 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. will look at ways to support underperforming students who are struggling in school, English language learners, students with special needs as well as students who have difficulty fitting into the traditional mold of school.

Residents may sign up for one of two planning boards by contacting Maryann Murphy by email at maryann.murphy@sbschools.org. Locations will be provided after registering.
