A Spirited War: Author Presentation and Book Signing

Author Presentation and Book Signing: Don Peck, “A Spirited War: George Washington and the Ghosts of the American Revolution in Central New Jersey”

Sun. Sep15, 2019   2pm   215 South Middlebush Rd, Somerset, NJ

We are very pleased to host a presentation and signing by local author Don Peck.  Please join us for an engaging afternoon at the historic Wyckoff-Garretson house.  After the presentation there will be a docent-led tour of the museum house.

From the American History Press website:  “Have all physical vestiges of the Revolution vanished from the Garden State?  Not at all.  In fact, the reader will be pleasantly surprised to discover that many historic sites still do exist, places that offer us a genuine glimpse into the Spirited War of the times.  Donald Peck and his companion Jane Doherty lead us on an in-depth tour of many of these Midland sites, each interpreting the facts from their individual point of view.  As historian and psychic, they provide a fresh analysis of events that took place in the area, along with explanations of the personalities involved in them.  The result is a very readable and exciting narrative, one that affords us an entirely new perspective on the past that surrounds us.”

Don Peck is an author of several books about the Revolutionary period in New Jersey’s history.  His formal education in history, French, theology and political science have guided his vast and dedicated service to the community in many private associations and governmental committees.  He is personally engaged in the restoration of a historical site in Fords, NJ.

This lecture will be held on Sunday, September 15, 2019 from 2-4pm at the historic Wyckoff-Garretson House, 215 South Middlebush Road, Franklin Township, NJ.  The fee for attending is $12 per person.  Tickets may be purchased online at Eventbrite.com  (link also available on our website, www.TheMeadowsFoundation.org).   If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Sue Ann Derkach at SueAnnDVought@aol.com.
