SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ - This past week, September 20th through the 26th, four South Brunswick residents have tested positive for COVID-19 according to the office of emergency management. The OEM also confirmed three unreported cases from previous months, bringing the total number of positive cases in South Brunswick Township to 529.

            This is the second consecutive week for single digit reported cases in a week’s time for South Brunswick. For 14 out of the past 15 weeks, the township had single digit reported cases per week. The four new cases are one male and three females with an average age of 50, according to the department’s weekly COVID report.

            32 South Brunswick residents have died due to the Coronavirus, 17 males and 15 females with an average age of 76. Half of the deaths were connected to long term care facilities, according to the OEM.

            Yesterday, September 28th, 2020, the state was able to confirm 561 new cases of COVID-19. New Jersey currently has 204,563 cases of COVID-19, according to the official state website. There are currently 19,539 cases of COVID-19 in Middlesex County, according to the OEM.
