PISCATAWAY, NJ - As the start of the 2019-2020 school year approaches, Piscataway School District officials have announced the appointment of Mr. Neel Desai to the position of Grandview Principal.
Mr. Desai replaces Dr. William Baskerville, who now serves as Piscataway’s Assistant Superintendent of Schools.
“We are delighted to welcome Need Desai to our district,” said Piscataway Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Frank Ranelli. “He has a strong desire to learn Grandview’s culture, and to move the building forward in the direction set by Dr. Baskerville.”
“We believe his experience as a teacher, school administrator, and central office administrator will enhance the educational experience of our students, and that he is well-equipped to inspire both students and staff to continue to strive for Grandview Greatness,” Ranelli added.
More about Neel Desai:
Throughout his career, Mr. Desai has shown a passion for academic excellence and student and staff wellness. To date, he has spent his career in South Brunswick. He began there in 2002 as an elementary school teacher before becoming Assistant Principal of Brooks Crossing Elementary School for the 2009-2010 school year.
From 2010-2016, he served as Principal of Brunswick Acres K-5 Elementary School.
Since 2016, he has served in Central Office, as the Director of Community Education, where in addition to overseeing Community Education Programs, he led professional development sessions, created professional development for para professionals, and conducted 40-50 staff evaluations each year.
Mr. Desai holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology/Exercise Science and a Master’s Degree in Education, both from Rutgers University. Additionally, he holds Elementary Teaching, Supervisor, and Principal Certificates.
