SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ - Last night, the three available seats for the South Brunswick Board of Education were filled by Joyce Mehta, Joe Scaletti and Raymond Kuehner. This is Joyce Mehta’s first time re-election to the board and the first time being elected for both Scaletti and Kuehner.
Joyce Mehta’s is a 14-year resident of South Brunswick who was elected to the board in 2017. She is currently the Recording Secretary for the South Brunswick Commission On Women, a commissioner for the South Brunswick Municipal Alliance, and a member of the South Brunswick Lions Club.
Joe Scaletti serves as the Middlesex Chairman for Volunteer Organizing Committee Local 254. This committee organizes community tasks for union carpenters, such as building handicap ramps and food pantry collections. He has also been a member of the South Brunswick Athletic Association and a Softball coach for the past decade.
Raymond Kuehner worked as the Transportation Coordinator & Energy Specialist for the North Brunswick Board of Education. He is a Past President State Transportation Supervisors Association. He also volunteers for several activities, departments, groups and clubs for South Brunswick High School & Crossroads Middle School.
“I possess knowledge and experience in several areas that I feel would be an asset to the district.” Kuehner wrote in his biography, “I am completely committed to provide the leadership this position requires to assure our township continues to provide the best quality, most rounded education possible to our students and to do so while being fiscally responsible to the taxpayers.”
