SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ - The township is hosting a Stop the Compressor meeting on Thursday, March 7 at 7 p.m. at the South Brunswick Senior Center. The goal of the meeting is to provide an update to residents along with an action plan regarding the proposed gas compressor station being built near Route 27 and Promenade Boulevard.
According to information posted on the South Brunswick Township website, the process to approve the construction of the compression station along with the installation of gas pipes underneath the Raritan Bay by federal regulators has already begun. The decision to halt the project rests with the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection and New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy. This evening public meeting will provide updates on the township's coallition to stop the construction of the compressor along with additional information on what steps the groups plans to take as well as actions residents can become involved in.
The South Brunswick Senior Center is located on 540 Ridge Road in Monmouth Junction.
