SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ - The South Brunswick Police Department are still seeking information regarding the hit-and-run death of township resident Ron Von Thun. Von Thun was hit on Friday, December 13 when he was riding his bicycle along Route 522 between Georges Road and Kingston Lane at around 10 p.m. The 49-year-old died was pronounced dead at Robert Wood Johnson from injuries he sustained during the accident.

The vehicle that struck Von Thun is thought to be a red Honda Accord. The model could possibly be a Honda Accord Touring or Sport from 2018, 2019 or 2020. The vehicle would have sustained front end damage. After striking Von Thun, the car left the scene, traveling westbound on Route 522 toward Route One.

Von Thun was an avid bicycle rider and part of the family that owns the popular Von Thun Country Market and farm in Monmouth Junction. Anyone with information on the December 13 fatal hit-and-run is asked to contact South Brunswick Police Department Traffic Officer Mike Leung by calling 732- 329-4646. The SBPD is stressing that even the smallest detail from that evening may help the department track down the driver of the red Honda.

Anonymous tips can also be made by contacting the Middlesex County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-939-9600. Both the South Brunswick Police Department and the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office "are looking to bring closure to the case and speak with the driver of the vehicle."
