MONMOUTH JUNCTION, NJ - Residents requiring assistance filling out their state and federal tax returns can receive free assistance on Tuesdays and Thursdays from February 4 through April 9 from volunteers from the AARP Foundation Tax-Aide program at the South Brunswick Public Library. Appointments are required and do fill up quickly. Interested residents can book a time online. All ages and income levels are welcome, but the preference will be given to low to moderate income seniors.

Volunteers are trained and certified in cooperation with the Internal Revenue Service and the New Jersey Department of Taxation. Participants should bring the following items to their scheduled appointment:

  • photo ID
  • last year's income tax return
  • Social Security card or statements
  • health insurance card
  • all year-end tax documents
