SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ - The South Brunswick Police Department is warning residents about the potential for severe thunderstorms today via a Nixle advisory. Conditions are ripe for storms to develop off to the west early to mid afternoon on Tuesday, May 28 and continue into the evening hours. Due to the unstable atmosphere, storms could be severe at times. The time frame for the possibility of storms is from 4 p.m. to midnight. More than one round of thunderstorms can run through the area during the forecasted time frame.
Damaging winds is a potential risk for developing storms today. The South Brunswick Police Department is also warning for a greater than normal risk for large hail and the possibility of an isolated tornado. Storms are forecast to taper down after 10 p.m. and be completely out of the area after midnight.
