SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ - Today's weather certainly does not feel like fall with temps expected to break October records in certain areas. However, take heart autumn weather is on the way and with that comes the inevitable fall activity of raking leaves. South Brunswick Township will have leaf collection crews in the four designated collection areas three times this season. The list of dates is available online. Leaf collection rules to remember are:

  • not to place leaves out more than seven days prior to collection
  • do not rake leaves within 10 feet of a catch basin
  • leaves should be raked to the curb and not into the street
  • leaf piles should not be more than 10 feet from the road's edge
  • leaves will not be collected from commercial properties
  • leaf bags will not be collected
  • rocks, litter and brush will not be collected with leaves

Residents with leaf bags can bring them to the South Brunswick Township's brush site behind Sondek Park on New Road on Mondays through Saturdays from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.  Leaf bags should be emptied and removed. Full or empty bags should not be left at the brush site.
