SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ -- The South Brunswick baseball team scored runs in each of its first five innings and went on to an 11-3 victory over Montgomery in the first round of the Central Jersey, Group 4 state tournament on Monday.

Nick Delacruz knocked in four runs with a pair of doubles and scored two runs for the Vikings (17-5-2), whose four-run third inning gave them a 7-1 lead. Matt Lauri had a two-run single for South Brunswick, which collected just six hits, but benefited from nine walks and four Montgomery errors.

Senior left-hander Jacob Ciccone pitched six innings for South Brunswick, allowed five hits, srtuck out nine, walked two and yielded two earned runs. Chazz Gagliano worked a perfect seventh inning with one strikeout for the Vikings.
