SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ -- The South Brunswick boys basketball team came through with a statement victory Saturday afternoon, defeating St. Joseph of Metuchen, 82-67.

Devin Strickland scored 27 points for the Vikings (15-4), who had their running game going early, taking a 24-17 lead after one quarter on their way to a 36-25 halftime advantage.

Tyrell Murchison finished with 20 points and Justin Carbone hit for 13 points for South Brunswick, which had the scoring advantage in every quarter over the Falcons (15-6). K-Shawn Shulters led St. Joe's with 20 points.

The victory could help ensure South Brunswick a high seed in the Greater Middlesex Conference Tournament, which will be seeded later next week.
