SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ -- The South Brunswick girls swim team advanced in the opening round of the Central, Group A state tournament with a 115-55 victory over Marlboro on Monday.

In the 200-meter freestyle relay, South Brunswick's combination of Grace Sorochen, Trisha Verma, Niyatee Desai and Libby Snyder     won with a time of 1:45.98. Verma, Desai, Sorochen and Libby Snyder won the 400-meter freestyle relay in 4:06.88.

Individually, Sorochen won the 100-meter backstroke in 1:05.43 and the 100 fly in 1:02.99, Snyder won the 100-meter freestyle in 0:57.71     and the 50 free with a time of 25.880, and Desai claimed the 200 free in 2:10.68.
