EDISON, NJ – Intercollegiate sports at Middlesex County College have a long and accomplished history stretching back more than 50 years.
Whether it was on the courts, the mats, the track or another athletic arena, the Blue Colts have built a legacy that includes Olympians, All-Americans, world-record performances, national championships and numerous legendary moments.
To properly honor and highlight these athletes, coaches and administrators, Director of Athletics Derrick Johnson has announced the creation of the Middlesex County College Blue Colt Athletics Hall of Fame.
“Over my first year as Director of Athletics, I've learned so much about the rich athletics history at the Middlesex County College,” Johnson said. “It's a history that is impressive, inspiring and in need of a fitting showcase and proper recognition. That's our inspiration for creating the Blue Colt Athletics Hall of Fame: to celebrate and pay tribute to those individuals who set the standards of excellence while wearing the Blue and White.”
A 10-member selection committee made up of campus representatives will choose the members of the inaugural class.
Following the induction of the inaugural class, nominations for Hall of Fame class can be submitted and will be accepted through July 31, 2020. Candidates nominated for their achievements as student-athletes must be five years removed from collegiate competition.
The inaugural class members will be inducted at the MCC Hall of Fame Reception/Dinner on Thursday, April 23, 2020 at West Hall on the campus of Middlesex County College.
